You see 80% of the total return on your investment, after merely 20% of the investment has been made.

This implies it gets harder and harder to see more of a return, just like accelerating to C :)

This is why the original phrase read "the law of diminishing returns".

seeking perfection or near-perfection is inefficient; better to whack 20% overall effort in and reap 80% of the total possible benefit :)

i think the 80/20 phrase was probably a business or stats thing, becasue we all know those muppets can't spell dinimishing.
